Every hour, at a glance.
Three screenshots in every 10 minutes, at random moments, while someone is working, with how busy the keyboard and mouse were. Never while idle, never with the screen locked.
Up and running in a morning.
HR adds people
Each person gets a sign-in: a 4-digit PIN for the desktop app, or a temporary password for managers, who set their own.
They press Start
Download the app, sign in once on the office computer, then press Start to clock in. Stop clocks out.
Managers watch the day
The Team board fills in as people start. At the end of the month, Reports and Salary are already done.
What’s recorded, plainly.
TimeTrackr records attendance, not people’s private lives. Everything it records is listed in the app itself. Read the privacy notice
- What is recorded
- Start, stop and idle times; three screenshots every 10 minutes, at random moments, while someone is working; how much the keyboard and mouse are used.
- What never is
- What anybody types. Screenshots are never taken idle, with the screen locked, or before signing in.
- Who can see it
- The person themselves, their manager and HR. Nobody else in the team.
- How long it’s kept
- Screenshots are deleted after 32 days. Attendance records are kept for payroll.
- Always disclosed
- The app says on its own screen that it takes screenshots, and shows when it last took one.
Questions.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. The desktop app keeps recording when the connection drops and sends what it recorded as soon as the network is back, so a bad connection doesn't cost anybody their day.
Windows or Mac?
Both: Windows 10 and 11, and Macs with Apple silicon or Intel processors. The download page has a build for each.
How do updates work?
The app checks for a new version by itself and installs it. Nobody has to download TimeTrackr again after the first time.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that safe?
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows asks before running it. Click More info, then Run anyway. IT can also install it silently with the /S switch.
Who can see my screenshots?
You, your manager and HR. Colleagues can't. Screenshots are only taken while you're working, never while idle or with the screen locked.
A day on my record is wrong. What do I do?
Open that day in My activity and choose Ask for a correction. Your manager sees it under Requests; once they approve it, the day is fixed straight away.
How long is my data kept?
Screenshots are deleted after 32 days. Attendance records are kept, because pay is worked out from them.
How do I get an account?
HR adds you and hands you a PIN or a temporary password. Nobody can sign themselves up.
Put it on the office computers.
Windows and Mac. It updates itself after the first install.
